Motorola Moto E: ‘Priced For All’ Smartphone Coming to India on May 13

While the Moto G may be attractive for most first-time buyers, Motorola could be thinking beyond the mid-end of the smartphone market.
Motorola has got the potential to disrupt the smartphone market of budget phones makers like Lava, Karbonn and Micromax, amongst others.
Just a day back, Motorola announced that the company would hold a press conference in London on May 13, and it seems there is a new handset ready to be introduced.
At the same time, Motorola has sent a similar invite for India launch event on the same day itself as the London event.
Details are limited so far, but the invite hints the phone will be "made to last" and "priced for all". The invite further reads," Connect more people to the world's information and each other, and they can do great things. Come experience the next smartphone from Motorola that's making these connections happen."
In nutshell, Motorola could be hinting at a low-end phone that may be rugged in nature.

Motorola Moto E: ‘Priced For All’ Smartphone Coming to India on May 13
Motorola Moto E Launch Expected Soon

For the past few months there have been crazy reports suggesting that Motorola is working on a cheaper variant of the original Moto G. Dubbed the Moto E, the device in question is expected to be priced on a lower side but will pack decent screen size and rugged build.
The Moto E is said to sport a 4.3-inch 720p HD display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5MP rear-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and a 1900mAh battery fitted inside.
In any case, the big breaking news is that Motorola Moto E is back in the headlines. Still, some of you might wonder why it took such a long time for Motorola to come up with a low-end phone, and the answer to that is quite simple.
After a smashing success of the Moto G in Indian market, Motorola is expected to maintain appropriate growth in the country. With the Moto E, the company will target low-end of the handset market and compete with budget Android devices from domestic vendors. There is also the chance that competitors will lower prices to match or outdo the Moto E. Rather than offering something at the lowest price.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Review: Big Things Come in Small Packages, Or Do They?

Mobile phones have come a long way. There was once an age when feature phones ran rampant in the market, but then the trend was taken over by the arrival of smartphones that opened a whole new dimension to the very concept of mobile phones.
But with so many smartphones currently in the market, it seems like while the competition is hot at its heels, the companies are trying out more new ways to make themselves known in the market. And one of the popular ways of doing that is by releasing a mini version of its popular flagship.
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Review: Big Things Come in Small Package
We have a number of companies Like Samsung who have followed suit in adopting the same strategies of releasing mini versions of its handsets. And it seems like the strategy has also found its way to the Japan-based mobile vendor Sony with its comparatively new Xperia Z1 Compact.
Sony has adopted the policy of coming out with mini version of handsets, and with the Xperia Z1 Compact, the company now has a great chance of competing against the likes of HTC One Mini and even the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. And the competition is also a massive one since compared to the aforementioned devices, the Z1 Compact offers much more.
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Review: Big Things Come in Small Package
Apart from the fact that Sony diverted from the "Mini" tag every one else in using and replaced it with a "Compact" tag for the new device, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact comes with all the good things of the original Z1 while keeping its originality intact.
Unsurprisingly enough, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact follows the same design language as that of the previous Xperia Z1. The device comes in choice of four different colors: black, white, pink and lime, and has a really clean feel about it.
So what's so special about this new device? Can it withstand others in the Market in the same price range (and there are lots)? We are currently sitting with a Xperia Z1 Compact unit at out disposal getting all up, close and personal with it. Let's see what this device has to offer.
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Review: Big Things Come in Small Package
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact: Design and Display

To be perfectly honest, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact looks like a livelier version of the 5-inch Xperia Z1. The device's single-piece aluminium frame gives it a hardy look, while its curved edges never really goes away from fitting perfectly in your hands. The overall frame of the phone is placed between two pieces of glass with a thin plastic holding it all.
As expected, the button placement of the Z1 Compact is similar to that of the original Z1. While all the covered ports and slots meant for microSD, SIM and charger are placed on the left side of the phone, the power button, volume rocker and the dedicated camera button are all on the right side of it.
If you are a keen technology watcher, the first thing that will come to your mind once you take a look at the Z1 compact is that the device's build is similar to that of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. However, the difference is only understandable once you pick up the device and feel it for yourself.
Of course, the overall build of the device with its glass panels remain massively open to possibilities of scratches and fingerprints, but that doesn't take away the fact that the device is anyway a great piece of hardware placed on the palm of your hands.
The device's chassis, measuring at 127 x 64.9 x 9.55 mm, seemingly curves slightly at the edges which protects the screen from sudden side impacts, apart from the overall feel of the device thats not big for executing commands via a single stroke of hand. However, make note that exposing the device too much to an air cooler or a conditioner could make it feel quite cold in your hands, again owing to the glass and metal build.
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Review: Big Things Come in Small Package
Apart from that, there's a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top of the phone which is open. This means that users can plug in headphones without running into problems with flaps. The speaker grille sits on the bottom of the Xperia Z1 Compact, and also has a wrist-strap hole.
Interestingly enough, as far as numbers are concerned, The 4.3-inch screen of the Z1 Compact has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, compared to the Xperia Z1's Full HD offering. Also, the Z1 Compact screen offers 341 pixels per inch which, for the sake of comparison, is more than the iPhone 5S's 326ppi offering.
Speaking about the on-screen quality and sharpness, you really have to have an eagle's eye to point out problems in that respect. And more so since it is only expected that a company which has spent most of its years developing cutting edge technology for TVs will know a thing or two about imaging and display quality.
The Z1 Compact's colors are visibly more accurate and deeper than most others in the market, provided you just watched a movie or video on it. Also, the device is bright enough for you to check it out under the sun.

Samsung Galaxy K zoom Vs Nokia Lumia 1520: Another Camera Battle That's Heating Up

The smartphone market, in recent times, has grown exceptionally large due to the continous inflow of a number of big name players like Samsung, Sony, Apple and HTC. And while the year has just started, fans have already been treated to a host of new releases.
Smartphones these days come in all shapes, sizes, and price tags to reach out to more customers who would otherwise pass up on an oppertunity to own a smartphones. And hence the arrival of a number of domestic companies offering devices at an incredibly low price tag.
Samsung Galaxy K zoom Vs Nokia Lumia 1520: Specs Comparison
But keeping aside all others in the race at the moment, two devices that are looking quite potent to race head to head against each other are the newly released Samsung Galaxy K zoom and the previously released Nokia Lumia 1520. And more so since both of them offer specs that are quite close to each other.
So if we are to turn a blind eye on all other devices currently in the market, and focus more on both the devices, what are the chances of one device beating the other in the race? Let's take a closer look at a comparison between the Samsung Galaxy K zoom and the Nokia Lumia 1520.
Operating System
There's a big difference in this respect since both the devices come running two different operating systems. While the newly revealed Samsung Galaxy K zoom comes fitted with the new and latest Android KitKat offering, its Nokia counterpart offers the Lumia 1520 running the Windows Phone 8 Black OS.

Display and Dimensions
The Nokia Lumia 1520 sports a massive 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Also, the device's overall dimensions measure up to 162.8 x 85.4 x 8.7 mm, and weighs in at 209 grams, which is quite heavy.
The Samsung Galaxy K zoom, in this regard, sports a slightly bigger 4.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The device's overall dimensions measure up to 137.5 x 70.8 x 16.6 mm, and weighs in at exactly 200 grams, which is also a heavy affair.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy K zoom, in this instance, offers an impressive 20.7-megapixel primary camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 5248 х 3936 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a secondary 2-megapixel camera on board that's more than enough for clicking decent selfies.
The Nokia Lumia 1520, in terms of camera, offers a 20-megapixel primary camera, sporting a lower pixel resolution of 4992 х 3744 pixels, with autofocus and dual LED flash. The device also comes with a front-facing 1.2-megapixel camera.
Processors
Both the devices, more or less, come sporting engines with decent performance and horsepower, and that's only expected since both are new-gen devices.
While the Nokia Lumia 1520 is equipped with a quad core 2.2 GHz Krait 400 processor, the Samsung Galaxy K zoom comes equipped with a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 and dual core 1.7 GHz Cortex A15 processor.
Storage and RAM
The Nokia Lumia 1520 offers 2GB of RAM to users while offering the device in a 16GB internal memory variant. Moreover, there's the option to expand the device's memory up to 64GB as an external microSD slot for additional memory is also present.
The Samsung Galaxy K zoom, on the other hand, offers a similar 2GB of RAM for users while offering the device in an 8GB internal memory variant. However, similar to the Lumia 1520, there's the option to expand the device's memory up to 64GB with an external microSD slot present.

Battery
While the Samsung Galaxy K zoom juices up the device via a 2430 mAh battery, the Lumia 1520 powers the device via a much greater 3400 mAh battery.
Price
The Nokia Lumia 1520 has been currently priced at Rs 39,399 for aspiring customers, while the Samsung Galaxy K zoom is yet to receive an official price tag.
Verdict
As we mentioned before, both the devices are quite similar to each other, barring out a few small differences in the process. And while both the devices are easily going head to head against each other in this race, the Nokia-made Lumia 1520 has a slight edge over its opponent via its massive 3400 mAh battery.
The Lumia 1520, if compared even closely with the K zoom smartphone, even offers more internal memory. However, if the presence of Android KitKat is left aside for the moment (which is quite hard to do at this point), the Lumia 1520 easily stands out as the ultimate winner.

Want To Know More About Next iPhone? Take a look At Your iPod Touch First

What's the next iPhone from Apple will be like? What new features or new design will the smartphone adopt? These are the kind of questions that flood our mind when we talk about the next iPhone. However, it seems like evidence to that is right in front of our eyes (somewhat).
Keeping aside the numerous theories and leaks related to the concept images of the next iPhone, according to reports, if you really want to get a sneak preview of the new device design, just take a closer look at the latest iPod touch.
Want To Know More About Next iPhone? Take a look At Your iPod Touch
There's a brand new video from Unbox Therapy that's really going viral on the web. The video takes up the topic of the kind of design Apple will adopt for the next iPhone and tells viewers to take a closer look at the design on the new iPod touch if they are to guess the new device's design.
In the video (see below), as scripted by Huffington Post, Unbox Therapy -- a YouTube show that focuses on gadgets and technology -- makes use of a leaked iPhone 6 case to compare the thickness and design of the iPod Touch with the potential new iPhone 6.

The device case that's in question has already started making rounds on the Internet after well-known leaker Sonny Dickson first got his hands on it from a source, he said, who has "an excellent track record."
While it goes without saying that the everything in the video has to be taken with a pinch of salt for the time being, the video has still been tagged by Forbes as a video that contains the "first tangible, physical evidence of what the form factor of the iPhone 6 will be." And that might be enough to make a lot of people believe.

Interestingly, the case fits in with the thickness of latest generation iPod Touch and even offers a perfect fit with the iPod Touch's longer volume buttons.

Google Could Replace Nexus Devices with Android Silver Range, Says Reports

If you are a keen technology watcher, you will be no stanger to the amount of leaks and speculations that have been revolving around Google's next Nexus device. Unsurprisingly enough, there's more to follow up on it today.
According to reports doing rounds on the web, Google could be planning on ceasing the Nexus range of devices altogether and could instead launch a new range of high-end devices. Apparently, Google's new range of devices will be called Android Silver.
Google Could Replace Nexus Devices with Android Silver Range
Quoting a brand new report on the same from The Information, the current business of offering Nexus-branded handsets with Google's widespread vision of offering the best Android user experience could very well be scrapped.
Moreover, it will be replaced by a set of high-end Silver phones that will closely resemble the very popular Nexus range of devices.

"The expensive effort involves dumping the four-year-old Google Nexus phone brand in favor of a new program called Silver, under which manufacturers and wireless carriers will effectively be paid to produce and sell high-end devices that closely adhere to Google specifications, according to four people briefed on the project," The Information report states.
"The requirements sharply limit the number of non-Google apps that can be pre-installed on devices, or mandate that phone owners be able to uninstall them."

The Report further says Google will be subsidising the development and marketing expenses for its hardware partners. Apparently, the company is spending about $1 billion to roll out this new plan.
As of now, LG and Motorola are believed to the most likely hardware partners for Google's new range of devices. However, other major players such as Sony, HTC and Samsung are also expected to join Google later.

HTC Could be Working on Rumored Smartphone Codenamed ‘M8 Prime’

While HTC's latest quarter results show that the company's financial health is on a decline, it does not necessarily mean an end to key strategic investments. Despite being tagged as a loss-churning company, HTC is trying hard to win back consumers with its boldest handset to date, the HTC One (M8).
The M8 variant of the HTC One was made available recently, and is reportedly selling well against the much hyped big-ticket handset for 2014-the Samsung Galaxy S5. Both handsets are being hailed contenders for snatching the coveted phone of the year trophy.
It has been well known since the beginning that both Samsung and HTC would launch their respective flagship handsets in the first half of 2014. However, what's remained unknown until now is the fact that HTC could be preparing a prime version of the M8. Yes, you heard it right!

Believe it or not, HTC might have plans to spoil Samsung's monopoly in the high-end of the smartphone market with a phone that may flaunt a 2K display and a quad-core processor powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC.
A new handset referred to as the "M8 Prime" has been teased by notorious leakster @evleaks on Twitter. However, no incremental details about the phone have been made public, which is not a surprise. So the HTC M8 Prime might turn out to be the handset to compete against top-end and premium most forthcoming phones from the likes of Samsung and LG.
Apparently, Samsung is tipped to launch its new high-end handset, dubbed the S5 Prime. The forthcoming phone is believed to go official sometime in June of this year. It may have a 5.2-inch 2K display (2560x 1440) pixel resolution, a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 3GB of RAM. Furthermore, the handset is said to be crafted out of metal.

The LG G3, on the other hand, will be launched in the second quarter of 2014. LG has already confirmed that the handset will come with a 2K display, and may possess high-end features.
Reality, whatever it is, we'll get to know sooner than expected. In the meantime, the HTC One (M8), which is originally scheduled to hit Indian market on May 7, has been made available via Flipkart at a price point of Rs. 48,120. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!

Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo (SM-G750) Spotted: Alleged Smartphone Tipped To Feature 5.1 Inch Display

Not long ago, Samsung introduced the Galaxy K Zoom, a camera-centric variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5. At the same time, there have been few whispers lately that Samsung's long time in-development handset, the Galaxy S5 Neo, is ready for action and may arrive sooner than expected.
Well, you can turn that anticipation up a notch now, as a mystery device carrying a model number SM-G750 has made an appearance on the Indian import data base site Zauba. The phone codenamed SM-G750 is the same which was earlier identified as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo.
Furthermore, the SM-G750 is listed as SM-G750A, SM-G750F and SM-G750H - most probably regional variants for select markets.

According to the latest leak, the device in question will come with a 5.1-inch display- the same as the Galaxy S5. Previous speculations have suggested that the Galaxy S5 Neo would pack a 5-inch display (720p), a 2.3GHz quad-core processor and arrive within the month of June.
Moreover, the UAP (user agent profile) of the SM-G750A is available on Samsung Mobile's website.
Going by the specifications of the SM-G750A, the device could be a cheaper version of the original Galaxy S5. The handset is also expected to arrive with a 720p HD display anda 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Tipped to arrive soon

In the meantime, Samsung might be preparing to launch the Galaxy S5 Mini, alongside the much speculated Galaxy S5 Neo. According to media report, the mini version of the Galaxy S5 would be waterproof and dust resistant.
Earlier last month, a phone carrying model number SM-870 was spotted allegedly on the web. It was reported that the SM-G870 could be the Galaxy S5 mini, as the ratio of its price compared to the Galaxy S5 is similar to that between the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 mini from last year.
