The M8 variant of the HTC One was made available recently, and is reportedly selling well against the much hyped big-ticket handset for 2014-the Samsung Galaxy S5. Both handsets are being hailed contenders for snatching the coveted phone of the year trophy.
It has been well known since the beginning that both Samsung and HTC would launch their respective flagship handsets in the first half of 2014. However, what's remained unknown until now is the fact that HTC could be preparing a prime version of the M8. Yes, you heard it right!
A new handset referred to as the "M8 Prime" has been teased by notorious leakster @evleaks on Twitter. However, no incremental details about the phone have been made public, which is not a surprise. So the HTC M8 Prime might turn out to be the handset to compete against top-end and premium most forthcoming phones from the likes of Samsung and LG.
Apparently, Samsung is tipped to launch its new high-end handset, dubbed the S5 Prime. The forthcoming phone is believed to go official sometime in June of this year. It may have a 5.2-inch 2K display (2560x 1440) pixel resolution, a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 3GB of RAM. Furthermore, the handset is said to be crafted out of metal.
The LG G3, on the other hand, will be launched in the second quarter of 2014. LG has already confirmed that the handset will come with a 2K display, and may possess high-end features.
Reality, whatever it is, we'll get to know sooner than expected. In the meantime, the HTC One (M8), which is originally scheduled to hit Indian market on May 7, has been made available via Flipkart at a price point of Rs. 48,120. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates!
